This Curiosity Snapshot provides a cross-curriculum introduction to mermaids, ocean creatures, and underwater habitats through science, geography, storytelling, creativity, and inquiry.
Learners explore mermaids and ocean legends, investigate a variety of ocean habitats and the creatures that live within them, discover how sea animals survive using special features and adaptations, and examine the diversity of life beneath the waves. Along the way, learners develop skills in observation, questioning, recording information, scientific thinking, creativity, imagination, and design.
Each Snapshot is designed using inclusive learning principles, supporting diverse learning needs through self-paced exploration, clear instructions, flexible activity options, visual supports, and multiple ways for learners to engage, create, and reflect.
A Curiosity Snapshot is a single learning experience within the larger Curiosity Collection. Each snapshot introduces a topic through exploration, creative activities, and reflection.
The Snapshot includes:
Each Curiosity Snapshot takes learners on a Wonder Learning Journey.
