This Curiosity Snapshot provides a cross-curriculum introduction to ancient civilisations, archaeology, historical inquiry, geography, creativity, and cultural understanding through history, humanities, design, and inquiry.
Learners explore ancient civilisations from around the world, investigate how people lived in the past, discover how archaeologists use artefacts and other evidence to learn about history, and examine remarkable buildings, cultural places, and ancient sites that continue to be valued today. Along the way, learners develop skills in observation, questioning, historical inquiry, comparing evidence, recording information, critical thinking, creativity, and communication.
Each Snapshot is designed using inclusive learning principles, supporting diverse learning needs through self-paced exploration, clear instructions, flexible activity options, visual supports, and multiple ways for learners to engage, create, and reflect.
A Curiosity Snapshot is a single learning experience within the larger Curiosity Collection. Each snapshot introduces a topic through exploration, creative activities, and reflection.
